Mumbai: BMC's H-West Ward office has been shifted to new building in Khar

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday, May 3, said that it has shifted the H-West ward office to a new building.

The BMC’s H-West ward office was previously located at St Martin’s Road in Bandra (west) and it has now been moved to Khar (west). The new address is ‘H-West’ Ward office, 2nd Hasnabad Lane, Khar West.

The old office was in a three-storey building. Meanwhile, the newly constructed six-storey building has a spacious parking lot and other facilities.

Meanwhile, the BMC’s H-West Ward that comprises Bandra, Khar and Santacruz (West) was the worst hit wards in the city in April. Known for its active Area Locality Management (ALMs) and celebrity quotient, H (west) ward was reporting around 300 to 500 cases daily.

While the overall average growth rate of COVID-19 cases in the city stood at 1.71 per cent, in H (west) ward, it stands at 2.25 per cent, the highest among all the 24 administrative wards. The ward has been actively involving citizens in the containment measures planned. However, the growth rate continues to surge.

At present, there are 26,853 positive cases in the HW ward. The ward authorities have attributed it to active and increased COVID-19 testing.
