Cyclone Tauktae: Eight persons injured in various rain-related incidents in Mumbai

Eight persons were injured in various rain-related incidents in Chembur, Borivali and Andheri areas in Mumbai. Three of them have been admitted to the hospital and their condition is stable. The remaining five injured were treated and sent home.

Cyclone Tauktae caused a lot of damage in Mumbai and a lot of trees were uprooted at many places in the city. In addition, banner hoardings collapsed on vehicles in some parts of Mumbai. There was water logging at low lying areas. Meanwhile, several people were seriously injured in havoc created due to cyclone Tauktae. Eight persons were injured in various rain-related incidents in Chembur, Borivali and Andheri areas in Mumbai. Three of them have been admitted to the hospital and their condition is stable. The remaining five injured were treated and sent home.

Chembur (East):

A house in the Priyadarshini building at Chikhalwadi in Sumannagar, Chembur (East) is undergoing repair work. At the same time, a part of the wall collapsed leaving four people injured. Three of them were admitted to Maa Hospital and one to Siva Hospital. The injured have been identified as Ashray Mali (21), Sudarshan Mali (23), Akash Mali (26) and Sagar Hanuman (22). Shelter was admitted to Maa Hospital and Sudarshan and Akash were treated and sent home. Sagar has been admitted to Sion Hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Borivali (East)

Three persons, identified as - Kunda Sakpal (40), Sagar Sakpal (25) and Devyani Sakpal, were injured when a part of a crane fell on a house in Abhinav Nagar in Kajupada area of Borivali (East). All three were treated at a local hospital and sent home.

Andheri (west)

A woman was injured when part of Room No. 18 of a one-storey building of Ganesh Nagar Society in Andheri (West) collapsed. The woman was admitted to a private hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
