On Monday, January 25, a massive march is to be held by the farmers in order for them to protest against the farm laws that have been introduced by the Centre.

Moreover, about 20,000 farmers from all over the state are participating in this morcha called by Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha. The protesters stormed the Azad Maidan in Mumbai on Sunday evening. In addition, this farmers' march has been supported by Sharad Pawar, President of NCP in Mahavikas Aghadi.

Meanwhile, as the morcha will be held on the eve of the Republic Day, i.e. on Monday, January 25, the Mumbai Police has put in place tight security. Moreover, drones are to be used by the Mumbai Police to observe the farmers' front. In view of the situation, at least 100 senior police officers and more than 500 police personnel will be on the streets to ensure peaceful agitations in the city.

On the other hand, Mumbai Police have been blocking the road since Friday. Incoming vehicles are being checked and then released into the city. Tight police security has been put in place to maintain law and order.

Currently in India, the farmers have been protesting alongside the Delhi borders against the new farm laws. They are protesting against the three laws, namely, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020 and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020, that took effect from September 27 after President Ram Nath Kovind's assent.
