Mumbai has improved its doubling rate of COVID-19 to 34 days in the city on Friday. This is being considered as an improvement from May 13 when the doubling rate was 13 days. A doubling rate above 30 days is considered to be a safe zone.

The death rate in the city happened to be 3 per cent which is almost equal to the national average. Meanwhile, the discharge rate was 44 per cent with Dharavi's doubling days being recorded at 42 days earlier.

Recently, on Saturday, 1,197 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the city of Mumbai, while 136 people succumbed to the coronavirus. The total death toll now stands at 3,559.
