With 32 positive cases, Maharashtra has been the worst affected state in India by the novel coronavirus. Amid the COVID-19 scare, the government is taking all the necessary measures to fight back against the outbreak but some individuals still fail to understand the gravity of the situation.

On Monday, Navi Mumbai Police issued a list of people who returned from Dubai, which is one of the countries affected by the pandemic, and failed to report to the hospital for quarantine. The police are now on a lookout for these people. The people were part of a large group and allegedly did not follow the rule of quarantine.

All international travelers have been directed by the government to be in quarantine for 14 days once they return to India. So far, India has close to 110 positive cases, as per the Ministry of Health, and two deaths.

There is a lockdown in place in Maharashtra. All cinema halls, malls, schools, gyms etc have been asked to remain shut till March 31. Grocery shops can remain open. The state is also advising people to avoid social gatherings and crowded places.

The biggest concern at the moment for India remains to be the people who keep running away or become missing after testing positive or who are suspected to be positive for COVID-19.

The Indian government had imposed a suspension on all types of passenger movement on Saturday night through the Indo-Bangla, Indo-Nepal, Indo-Bhutan and Indo-Myanmar borders, barring a few specified border check-posts.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has imposed the Epidemic Act across the state for the time being. Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray had announced the same via his Twitter handle:
