According to the latest report, a decision on lifting curfew and internet suspension in Maharashtra’s Amravati city will be taken by the local administration this evening, November 19.

As the law and order in the city remains under control through the week, Yashomati Thakur, the guardian minister of Amravati district, will hold a meeting with the police commissioner, municipal commissioner and district collector to decide if the curfew could be lifted from Saturday, November 20.

A massive police bandobast has been on the streets since the curfew was ordered.

Moreover, on Thursday, November 18, curfew was relaxed between 11 am and 5 pm for essential services. In addition, government services like banks resumed work and government servants were allowed to go to their workplaces.

So far, 240 people including BJP leaders like former state ministers Pravin Pote Patil, Jagdish Gupta and Anil Bonde, have been arrested by the police. Meanwhile, till Wednesday night, November 18, 119 persons were arrested from the minority community who were allegedly involved in the violence in Malegaon and Nanded last Friday.
