This January, Hakkasan, the world-class Cantonese restaurant, will mark Chinese New Year celebrations with a festive and auspicious menu that utilises ingredients traditionally thought to usher in good fortune. The limited-edition à la carte menu will be available until Sunday, 9th February 2020.
The celebratory menu will connote impressive craftsmanship, created by Hakkasan’s Corporate Executive Chef, Andrew Yeo, showcasing his creative culinary expertise and theatrical focus. Each dish will be a colourful representation of different elements of the Chinese lunar calendar, including the Yu Sheng salad - a sweet and tangy raw fish salad with house cured Loch Duart Salmon and a plum dressing. The highlight of this auspicious menu is the Golden treasure pockets with wild mushrooms, decorated with a gold leaf and presented as money bags, that reflect wealth. The Steamed Chilean seabass with Dragon’s well tea broth is a truly decadent dish in the Chinese New Year meal. You won’t be able to resist the Wok-fried jumbo prawns - a treasure brimming with premium ingredients like taro mousseline and brown butter black bean sauce. The centrepiece of the menu is the eye-catching Salt crust fortune baked chicken with shiitake mushroom, bamboo shoot and chestnut. Don’t miss the Baby pak choi and the Fragrant rice - a mainstay of Chinese cuisine.
Round off your meal with the indulgent Lucky Jie, a dessert with salted caramel ganache, mandarin, chilli and cocoa that is presented as a Chinese knot to signify good fortune. Made in signature Hakkasan style, the Cheng Zi cocktail with Diplomático Mantuano rum, chilli-infused Velvet Falernum, mandarin and chocolate is perfect to raise a toast to the New Year.
