Repair work of 2,417 houses of mill workers at Kon in Panvel has been expedited by the Mumbai Board of MHADA. So far 70 percent of the house repair work has been completed and 500 houses are ready for distribution. In just a few days after Diwali, 500 workers who have paid the full amount of these houses will be given possession of the houses, keys will be distributed to them.


The Mumbai Board had held a lottery in 2016 for 2,417 houses in the leasehold area of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). But the workers have not yet got possession of the houses in this lot. Due to various reasons and disputes over repairs, the possession of the houses was delayed. But now the repair work has started and recently the mill workers control committee inspected this work.

Accordingly, MLA Sunil Rane, President of the Committee informed that 70 percent of the repair work has been completed so far. He also said that the repairs of 500 houses have been completed and the concerned will be given possession of these houses in five-six days after Diwali.
