Mumbai: Massive hoarding collapses in Ghatkopar, 7 reportedly injured, 3 dead

Mumbai witnessed a pre monsoon with hail storms and dust storms on May 13, 2024. Amidst dust storm and heavy rainfall, a massive hoarding collapsed. It is believed that many people are trapped and vehicles are damaged as well. Seven people are reported to be injured. Rescue work is underway. 

As per the information recieved from Smt Bharti, MS, Rajawadi Hospital, total 59 injured reported out of which 3 declared brought dead. 

The video of the same is going viral where a hoarding is seen collapsing sending debris flying in all directions.

"47 citizens have been evacuated so far in the hoarding collapse accident in Ghatkopar area. Departments like Mumbai Police, Municipal Corporation, Disaster Management are coordinating and efforts are being made to evacuate the trapped people on a war footing. The injured are being treated at Rajawadi Hospital and will be given all possible assistance, said Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis. 


 


Around 50 to 60 people are likely to be trapped and work is going on to evacuate the trapped persons with the help of police, fire brigade, Mahanagar Gas Limited, Municipal Corporation and others, Mumbai police reported the same on X.

A high-level inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
