On Tuesday morning, May 21, Mumbai witnessed partly cloudy skies and light. The sun rose at 6.02 am and may set at 7.08 pm. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted bright skies for the city and its suburbs.

The Regional Meteorological Department in Mumbai recorded the daytime and evening temperature around 34-35 degrees Celsius. 

In the upcoming days, a slight increase in minimum temperatures is expected. On Wednesday, May 22, the minimum temperature is predicted to reach 27 degrees Celsius. But a decrease in low temperatures is anticipated later, with temperatures hovering around 25 to 26 degrees Celsius. This week’s maximum temperature is expected to drop and fall between 32–34 degree Celsius range. Winds are expected to blow mostly from the southwest at a speed of 9.3 km/h.

Sunil G Kamble, head, IMD Mumbai said: "In Mumbai, temperatures around 34-35 degrees Celsius are normal temperatures for the summer season, however, the humidity levels in the city are as high as 70 per cent."

On Monday, May 20, the weather department's Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum and minimum temperature at 34.8 and 29 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Colaba observatory recorded a maximum and minimum temperature at 35 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Humid weather may persist in the city until the end of this month. Moreover, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Pune by June 10 and Mumbai by June 11. Monsoon is likely to arrive in South Maharashtra around June 5.
