Recently, a report was published that stated that India is the world's most dangerous country for women considering the high risk of sexual violence. One such incident was reported in the financial capital where a 37-year-old banker from Italy was allegedly raped by a tour guide on June 14, 2018.

According to the police, the rape survivor filed a complaint on Friday stating that she met the accused on a bus which was set for a sightseeing tour. The complainant booked him when he introduced himself as a tour guide.

After the bus tour, around 7:00 pm, the accused offered her to show actor Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow in Juhu. Post this, the accused promised to drop her to the hotel in Colaba where she was staying. Meanwhile, he stopped the vehicle to buy liquor. As per the police officials, he forcefully made the victim drink alcohol and then raped her.

The victim who approached the Italian embassy was asked to file a case with Mumbai police. Likewise, the woman registered her statement with Colaba police station after which the case was transferred to Juhu police station.
