The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced the results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Class 12 results, revealing a commendable pass percentage of 93.37% among students, on May 21.

The result links for the students was activated at 1 pm on their official website https://mahresult.nic.in/.

Konkan division has once again topped the Maharashtra Board Class 12 result with a pass percentage of 97.91%. While Mumbai students have the lowest pass percentage of 91.95%.

Once again, girls outperformed boys in the exam with a pass percentage of 95.44%. Girls achieved a significantly higher mark compared to boys who secured 91.60%.

It is pertinent to note that this year, the state board disclosed a concerning figure of 313 reported cases of cheating during the examination.

Most of these incidents involved physics, maths, and economics papers. This demonstrates a strong adherence to academic integrity in Mumbai compared to other regions in Maharashtra.

The Class 12 examinations were conducted from February 21 to March 19. This year, 14,33,331 students registered for the HSC exam in Maharashtra, of whom 14,23,923 appeared and 13,29,684 passed. Of this, there was a near-even split between boys (8.2 lakh) and girls (6.9 lakh).

The Mumbai division, encompassing Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad, had the largest number of examinees, exceeding three lakh students. Within this division, Mumbai alone contributed over 1.59 lakh students, while Thane followed closely with over a lakh students.

Despite being at the bottom among the nine zones, this figure represents a significant improvement from the previous year's 88.13%, marking a four per cent increase.
