Actor Sonu Sood’s humanitarian work this year has already won the hearts of many people across the country and the actor is taking all the efforts to make sure his help reaches more people.

According to the reports, the actor has reportedly mortgaged eight properties in Mumbai, in an effort to raise ₹10 crores for the needy. The mortgaged properties include two shops located on the ground floor and six flats in the Shiv Sagar CGHS in Juhu. Reportedly, the building is located along the AB Nayar Road near the Iskcon Temple in Mumbai.

The flats include one unit each from the first to the sixth floor of the building. The media portal has also stated that the bank that has granted the loan to the actor is Standard Chartered Bank.

The agreement was signed on September 15 and the registration was done on November 24. A fee of ₹5 lakh was paid to raise the loan, reports suggested.

However, there has been no confirmation or official statement given by the actor himself in this regards.

During the lockdown, which was imposed in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Sonu had arranged for transportation for thousands of stranded migrant workers and also arranged for PPE kits for people. Moreover, many people also lost their means of income due to the COVID-19 crisis, he also provided them with an alternate source of income.

In August, Sonu tweeted, “1137. mails 19000. fb messages 4812. Insta messages, 6741. Twitter messages, Today’s HELP messages. On an average these are the number of requests I get for HELP. It is humanly impossible to reach out to everyone. I still try my best. Apologies if I missed your message.”

For his efforts, he was conferred with the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
