Recently, three new lanes on the Shilphata flyover have been inaugurated making a swifter journey for commuters using the Kalyan Shil marg, which links Kalyan, Dombivali, Thane and Navi Mumbai.

This will offer respite to drivers navigating between Kalyan, Dombivali, Ambernath, Badlapur, Thane and Navi Mumbai. They will be able to travel hassle free.

Sant Savalaram Maharaj Kalyan Shil Marg is a very crucial route. Therefore, to solve the traffic congestion issue on this road, last year it was expanded into six-lane. However, now, in order to further speed up travel on this route, additional six lanes of the flyover constructed at Shilphata junction on National Highway No. 48 in Mumbra area, which was the part of project's second phase, have now been opened fully for motorists.

This development came after Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in February had opened three lanes of this flyover, through which traffic was flowing on both sides.

This project has been initiated by Kalyan Lok Sabha Constituency MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde. With this, the flyover now spans 740 meters in length and 12 meters in width.

The total cost of the project amounted to INR 119 crore.
