Ghatkopar - Martyr Babu Genu led a movement to ban foreign goods in India in 1930s during the British regime. On 12th December to protest against foreigh goods he slept in front of a truck carrying foreign goods in Kalbadevi and lost his life when the truck drove over him. In memory of his sacrifice a torch rally was organised on Sunday from Kalbadevi to Amritnagar in Ghatkopar. This rally will reach to Mahalunce, which is Babu Genu's native place via Vashi, Lonavla and Ambegaon.
