Jogeshwari- Jogeshwari resident Bhai Mirlekar & Sayali Mirlekar set an example of celebrating the eco-friendly Ganesh festival. This environment-friendly couple stays at Rajeshwar Society who have been immersing Bappa's idol at their residence. But, as this idol is made of metal, it does not immerse and so they use the same idol every year.
For the decoration, they use fruits, leaves & flowers. Along with this, they also plant trees giving away the message of tree plantation. considering their green efforts, Sate Housing Minister Ravindra Waikar gave them first prize this year for eco-friendly decoration & idol.
