Superstar Akshay Kumar had organized a press conference at his residence in Mumbai to announce the new release date for his upcoming film PadMan. Producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali who was also a part of the conference said that it was a mutual decision as both agreed to postpone PadMan’s date and release Padmaavat on the January 25.
“Akshay didn’t even take two minutes to take this decision, as he and the industry know what I have gone through”, said the filmmaker of Padmaavat, Sanjay Leela Bhansali who was present at the press conference. PadMan will now hit the theatres on February 9.
Sharing more about the release date Akshay averred, “My studio and Kriraj Entertainment have taken the decision. We all are one family, I completely understand that his (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) need is more than mine for this date. They have a reason to release as quickly as possible. We both can come on the same day easily. We both can share the theatres but their stakes are much higher than mine."
