The second wave of the coronavirus has resulted in many celebrities testing positive. The latest celebrity to get this deadly virus is Alia Bhatt. The news was first shared by Bollywood website Pinkvilla and quoting the source to the actress shared that at the time when Alia got to know that she has tested positive, she was on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. It is also reported that she was shooting for a song in a Mumbai studio.
It is noteworthy that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had tested positive a few days ago. It was also revealed at that time that Alia Bhatt gets herself tested almost every day.
Later in the night, Alia too confirmed the news. Taking to her Instagram story, Alia shared, "Hello all, I have tested positive for Covid-19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors. Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care."
Last month, Ranbir Kapoor had tested positive for Coronavirus. In the month of March, many known faces such as Kartik Aaryan, Bappi Lahiri, Aamir Khan and R Madhavan have tested positive for COVID-19.
On April 1, Mumbai reported a record number of 8,646 cases. This is the highest single-day spike that the maximum city has posted ever since the pandemic started. In the last 24 hours, 18 deaths have been reported in Mumbai. With the addition of Thursday's cases, the total tally of Mumbai now stands at 4,23,360. Currently, there are 55,005 active cases.
