The 117-year-old Swadeshi market in Mumbai will soon undergo redevelopment, said BJP state president Ravindra Chavan.

He assured that the city’s historic market will definitely be redeveloped and that no member will be inconvenienced in the process.

CHavan further stated that he personally guarantees this on behalf of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

At a special event organised to commemorate the 117th anniversary of the Swadeshi Market in Kalbadevi, Chavan said that this market is not just a trading center, but a symbol of the glorious legacy of the country's Swadeshi movement.

Remembering the great revolutionary Babu Genu, he said that Babu Genu sacrificed his life in this same Kalbadevi area while stopping a truck loaded with foreign clothes. His sacrifice still inspires the countrymen to embrace Swadeshi.

On this occasion, a special postal envelope showcasing the 117-year history of the Swadeshi Market organization was also unveiled.

At the event, Chavan also stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has reached new heights of development in the last 12 years.

Under the principle of “Make in India, Make for the World”, continuous efforts have been made to bring Indian-made products to the global market.

He added that the Maharashtra government is also working rapidly in this direction, which will further accelerate the state's development.

Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who was present at the event, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, development-oriented politics has gained a new identity in the country. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, development work is progressing rapidly in Maharashtra, and the redevelopment of the Swadeshi Market will soon be realized. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sumit Mehra, President of the Swadeshi Market organization, Suchitatai Joshi, Post Master General of the Navi Mumbai area, and local BJP corporators Akash Rajpurohit and Rita Makwana.
