A tragic road accident in Navi Mumbai's Taloja area claimed the lives of two people and left eight others seriously injured after a speeding car lost control and rammed into pedestrians in Sector 10 on Tuesday, July 7.
According to preliminary information, the driver was passing through Taloja Sector 10 when the vehicle suddenly went out of control. The car reportedly veered off the road and crashed into people walking and standing along the roadside.
The force of the impact was devastating, knocking down between eight and ten pedestrians. Two people died at the scene, while eight others sustained serious injuries. Eyewitnesses said the collision was so powerful that some victims were thrown several feet away. The accident also caused significant damage to nearby two-wheelers and autorickshaws.
Local residents immediately rushed to help the injured and alerted emergency services. The victims were shifted to a nearby private hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Hospital sources said several of the injured remain in critical condition.
After the crash, the driver allegedly abandoned the damaged vehicle and fled before police arrived. Officers quickly reached the accident site, secured the area and seized the car involved in the incident.
