Thane Traffic Police has issued a traffic control notification imposing 'no-parking' restrictions on several busy roads in Ulhasnagar, which falls under the jurisdiction of Vitthalwadi Traffic Sub-Division, to ease traffic congestion and smooth vehicular movement.

According to a tweet by Thane Police, there is continuous traffic congestion in several parts of Ulhasnagar East due to unauthorized parking by motorists on busy roads.

The transport department said that the affected roads see heavy traffic throughout the day and commuters are facing frequent traffic jams and inconvenience due to careless parking.

To address this issue, the transport department has declared several parts of roads as 'no-parking zones' for 24 hours.

These restrictions have been imposed under the powers conferred under Sections 115 and 116(1)(a)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Under the new traffic regime, parking has been banned on both sides of the road in front of Gulshan Juice Centre and Satkar Bar and Restaurant in Bhim Colony, Ulhasnagar 4.

These restrictions will be applicable in a strip of approximately 200 meters and will remain in force for 24 hours.

Similarly, parking restrictions have been imposed on both sides of the road from Kribhana Dairy towards Pandurang Band Park and further up to Saxer Church. These restrictions will be applicable in a strip of approximately 300 meters.

Another stretch of the road from Balaji Taddi Muddi Centre to Satyam Super Market Shop has also been declared a no-parking zone.

The restrictions will be for approximately 50 meters on both sides of the road and will remain in force for 24 hours a day.

The transport department has banned parking on both sides of the road from Kameshwar Mahadev Temple opposite Chandramani Buddha Vihara to Ulhasnagar East Railway Station.

The skywalk pillars on the side of the road reduce the available road width and increase traffic congestion, hence this strip of about 300 metres has been brought under the 'no-parking' rule.

In addition, a parking ban has been imposed on both sides of the road from Chandramani Buddha Vihar to Madrasi Pada and onwards to Mari Mata Mandir. This ban will be in a strip of about 100 metres and will be in force throughout the day.

Officials noted that unauthorized parking on these routes has become a major cause of traffic congestion, hence the need for stricter regulation.

This notification will be implemented on a trial basis for a period of 30 days from the date of publication.

During this period, citizens can submit objections or suggestions in writing to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Teen Hat Naka, LBS Marg, Thane.

The police said that if no objections or suggestions are received during the trial period, the traffic arrangements will be made permanent till further orders.

The notification clarified that these restrictions will not apply to police vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, oxygen transport vehicles, corridor vehicles and other essential service vehicles.
