Mumbai Local News: 32-Year-Old Passenger For Travelling With Forged Railway Pass At Masjid Bunder Station

Central Railway’s (CR), Lady Ticket Examiner, Sujata Kalgaonkar detected a passenger travelling with a fake Season Ticket o­n November 15, 2025.

Ticket Examiner, Sujata Kalgaonkar working in CSMT-Kalyan Special Squad while o­n duty at Masjid Bunder station o­n 15.11.2025 was checking the tickets of passengers. A passenger produced a Second class Quarterly season ticket no UFV-291148415 from CSMT to Dadar valid from 20.08.2025 to 19.11.2025. 

Sujata o­n suspicion enquired from the passenger as to where the Season ticket was issued from. The passenger said it was issue from Masjid station where as the season ticket displayed station of issue as Byculla. o­n further questioning, the  passenger told his name was Shamin Shaikh whereas the season ticket displayed name as Mohammed Dilshad. 

Sujata sensed that the season ticket was a fake o­ne. She immediately informed the concerned and  the person was taken into custody & an FIR was registered. 

The offender has been handed over to the GRP/ CSMT for further action. 

Sujata’s alertness and sharp thinking has blown the lid of a fake ticketing racket which is under investigation. Her dedication towards duty has set an example for other to follow.

Central Railway appeals to passengers to please travel with valid tickets and to get the tickets issued from authorised vendors or counters or o­nline. 

Tickets are also available o­n UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System), passengers can download the UTS app o­n their mobile phones and book tickets through Mobile UTS app.
