Police in action mode for free & fair polls

Mumbai - Mumbai police have started preparations for free and fair elections across the city. As a part of this, police have started taking action against people with criminal background. As many as 24 persons with criminal background from Paydhoni, Girgaum, Gaondevi, Malbar Hills etc are being sent out of the city while 91 such persons are sent out of the jurisdiction of their police stations, informed Dnyanesh Chavhan, assistant police commissioner, zone II. Six history-sheeters are also being arrested and they are identified as Tausif Khan, Salman Shaikh, Mohammed Farukh Khan, Mohammed Isaq Gilani Shah, Arif Qureshi, Mohammed Salim and Anwar Alim. Police have seized two pistols, eight live cartridges, one chopper, five mobile phones are other materials from them. Police have also informed that such action would be taken in the jurisdictions of other police stations across the city.
