There is an ongoing tussle, in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Standing Committee, between Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the possession of a plot beside Mulund Gymkhana.

Earlier, the Standing Committee approved the proposal to construct a security wall around the land which belongs to the BMC. However, some officials are trying to interfere with the construction despite committee’s orders. BJP group leader alleged that the chairman of the standing committee and the Garden department’s president are interfering in this matter.

The Standing Committee chairman Yashwant Jadhav gave instructions that the administration will take strict actions against officials who will go against the decision - and those who interfere with the implementation process - taken by the committee.

Earlier, when the proposal for development on the TDR plot in L Divison’s Chandivali farm road was approved, BJP group leader Manoj Kotak notified the Standing Committee that the proposal approved was not being implemented and the changes in the approved proposal were taken into account after the President of Graden department and Standing Committee inspection.

Kotak asked the committee that if there is any kind of regulation to control someone from interfering with the approved proposal.

Corporator Prabhakar Shinde accused the officials of interfering with the approved proposal and he demanded the committee to question the officials about this. He appealed to the committee to inquire about the possessor of the land near Mulund Gymkhana. Samajwadi Party’s Rais Shaikh also supported the same.
