Air India Express will introduce a direct Mumbai–Ahmedabad flight service from May 1, as part of its broader expansion of domestic connectivity across India.
The airline is also adding around 10 new domestic routes, strengthening links between major metro cities and key regional destinations. The move is aimed at improving travel convenience for passengers during the peak summer travel season and boosting connectivity across the country.
According to the report, the new routes will connect major hubs such as Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata with various cities, including tourist and business destinations. The expansion is expected to enhance frequency options and reduce travel time for passengers on high-demand sectors.
Bookings for the new routes have already opened, and the airline has positioned the expansion as part of its strategy to improve domestic air connectivity and meet rising passenger demand.
