Mumbai: BEST to Operate 20% of Its Bus Services on Nov 19-20; Service Disruptions Likely

The BEST has announced that over 20 percent of its fleet will be deployed for election duties on November 19 and 20. As a result there will be a significant reduction in bus services on both the days. 

With a fleet of approximately 3,000 buses, BEST caters to the daily transport needs of around 35 lakh passengers. However, as per the announcement, around 657 buses will be involved in the process of Vidhan Sabha elections. This will significantly affect the regular bus service in the city.

In a statement posted on social media platform Twitter, the BEST urged Mumbaikars to plan their travel. On November 19 and 20, buses will be delayed and passengers will have to wait longer for buses.

Commuters who rely on public transport are advised to seek alternative travel options. Also, passengers are being asked to use alternative vehicles to avoid inconvenience during the election period. The BEST has also promised to continue essential services, giving priority to election-related work.
