BJP MLA Mihir Kotecha has demanded that the inquiry reports into recent accidents on the Mumbai Metro Line 4 project be made public, raising serious concerns over safety lapses.
In a letter addressed to the commissioner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, Kotecha called for transparency in the investigation and strict action against those responsible.
The demand comes in the wake of two incidents at the Metro Line 4 construction site in Mulund. Earlier, a protective parapet wall collapse led to one death and injuries to three people. More recently, a wooden plank reportedly fell onto a moving car near the same location.
Kotecha highlighted that repeated incidents at the same stretch point to serious negligence and failure to follow safety norms. He urged authorities to immediately investigate the latest incident and share the findings of the earlier probe as well.
The MLA has also called for action against the contractor involved and stressed that public safety must remain the top priority. He warned that recurring safety lapses could erode public trust if not addressed promptly.
