Mumbai: BMC releases the list of old and dangerous bridges

To avoid any untoward incident during Ganeshotsav, BMC has released a list of old and dangerous bridges in Mumbai. This list has been prepared by the Chief Engineer (Bridge), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

According to the BMC officials, bridge at Curry Road Station, Chinchpokli Railway Station on Sane Guruji Marg (Arthur Road) and Mandlik Bridge on Railway Lines at Byculla, cannot take weight exceeding 16 tonnes (devotees and combined weight of vehicles).

1) Ghatkopar Railway Bridge (Rail Over Bridge)

2) French Railway Bridge (between Grant Road and Charney Road)

3) Kennedy Railway Bridge (between Grant Road and Charni Road)

4) Currey Road Railway Bridge

5) Chinchpokli Railway Bridge of Sane Guruji Marg, Arthur Road

6) Falkland Railway Bridge (between Grant Road and Mumbai Central)

7) Byculla Railway Bridge

8) Marine Lines Railway Bridge

9) Sandhurst Road Railway Bridge (between Grant Road and Charney Road)

10) Bellasis Railway Bridge (pass Mumbai Central Station)

11) Mahalakshmi Steel Railway Bridge

12) Prabhadevi-Carol Railway Bridge
