Seven Hills Hospital fails to pay property tax worth ₹9 Cr; BMC seals admin office

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed administration department of Marol’s Seven Hill’s Hospital, as the hospital authorities have not paid the property tax of ₹9 crores, accumulated over the last few years.

The BMC had handed over the land to the concerned officials, where the latter build Seven Hills Hospital. As per reports, the civic body had asked the hospital to pay the property tax by February 28, but the former had not followed the instructions and the guidelines. Following which, the civic body vacated the administration department by ousting the employees.

Mumbai Live had contacted Kshirsagar, Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Assessment and Collection, who said that the notice was sent to the hospital, with the permission of BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta and Additional Commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee.

In total Seven Hills Hospital has to pay property tax worth ₹39 Cr. But a dispute is on related to the said amount but there was no dispute regarding ₹9 Cr. When hospital did not pay any heed to the notice, the civic body took an action.
