BMC directs Lodha Aria housing society to demolish illegal construction

The BMC has issued notice to the housing society of Lodha Aria building in Sewri West for illegal construction and directed the society administration to remove illegal construction till May 30.

A complaint regarding illegal construction in the Lodha Group’s building was registered in the F-South ward office. Following this, the civic authorities have slapped a notice on the concerned society and registered a police complaint in this regard. The society management approached the High Court against BMC notice. The HC had directed the society management to submit new building plan. The society has recently submitted the plan to the HC. The building proposal department has clarified that illegal construction could not be regularized as the FSI has already been used completely. Following this, the BMC has issued to notice for removal of illegal construction till May 30, 2017.

If the concerned society management fails to act as per the BMC orders, the civic authorities will demolish the illegal construction in police security, informed Vishwas Mote, assistant municipal commissioner of F-South ward.

The illegal construction include party hall, library, pantry and bathroom on the ground floor; theater, society office, sports room, driver’s room on the second floor.
