Coaching institutes and education activists staged a protest at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan on Wednesday May 27, over the alleged irregularities and paper leak in the NEET examination. Protesters demanded greater transparency in the examination process and called for a uniform education system across the country under the slogan “One Nation, One Syllabus.”

Participants claimed that repeated controversies surrounding national-level entrance exams have created uncertainty and mental stress among students preparing for competitive examinations. They argued that differences in state and central board syllabi place many students at a disadvantage in exams such as NEET.

During the protest, representatives of coaching classes and student groups urged the central government to introduce a common syllabus and equal academic standards nationwide. Protesters also demanded a thorough investigation into the alleged paper leak and strict action against those responsible.

Many speakers at the demonstration highlighted concerns over the credibility of competitive examinations and said students’ futures should not be jeopardized because of administrative failures. Parents and education experts who joined the protest stressed the need for reforms that ensure fairness and equal opportunities for students from all educational backgrounds.

The demonstration at Azad Maidan remained peaceful, with protesters holding banners and raising slogans demanding accountability, transparency, and systemic reforms in the country’s examination process.
