Devendra Fadnavis has directed government agencies to complete all infrastructure projects in the state within the stipulated time frame of three years. He also clarified that contractors who delay in projects should not be given work in future.

He was speaking at the Chief Minister's War Room meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House. He underlined that it is essential for the development and progress of the state to complete important infrastructure projects on time.

The Chief Minister also directed the officials to study the proposal to provide concessions in the state GST to industries in Dharavi. He said that this will give strength to local industries and help bring the large informal economy in Dharavi to the formal sector.

He also directed that pending issues related to the Dharavi redevelopment project be resolved by coordinating with various departments instead of sending them to the cabinet repeatedly.

Devendra Fadnavis said that the previous experience of contractors in completing projects on time should be an important criterion in the tender process. “Delays in infrastructure projects cause losses to the state and the country,” he explained to the officials.

On this occasion, he directed to complete the BDD Chawl Redevelopment projects at N. M. Joshi Marg, Naigaon and Worli at an accelerated pace. He also asked to expedite the work of major transport projects like Thane-Borivali Twin Tunnel, Goregaon-Mulund Twin Tunnel and Bandra-Versova Sea Link.

Besides, instructions were also given to expedite land acquisition for Virar-Alibag Multi-Modal Corridor, complete Pune Ring Road at an early date, make land available for Mula-Mutha River Rejuvenation Project and ensure adequate water supply to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The meeting reviewed a total of 19 infrastructure projects in Mumbai, including six metro lines, Sewri-Worli elevated corridor, Dharavi and BDD Chawl redevelopment, Thane-Borivali twin tunnel, Pune Metro, Pune Ring Road and Mula-Mutha revitalization projects.
