Central Railway (CR) has achieved a significant milestone by accruing a revenue of INR 65.47 Crore till date in the current financial year through non-fare means like leasing out space for advertising in trains, at stations and other initiatives. This indicates a growth of more than 2% against last year.
Mumbai Division has accrued revenue of INR 50.36 Crore till date which accounts for 3/4th of the total Non-fare Revenue.

Initiatives during FY 2025-26:
1. Advertising at Stations
- Vending of consumable and non-consumable items in EMU trains on the CSMT–Kalyan section
- Relaxation Massage Chairs for passengers benefit at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Kalyan, Panveland Lonavala station.
- Battery Swapping Stations for Electric vehicles at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Kanjurmarg stations.
- Digi Locker facility at Kalyan station.
- Promotion of banking and insurance products/services through promotional kiosks—two at CSMT Station (Platform No. 18 near the General Waiting Room and Cab Road near the Booking Office) and one at Thane Railway Station.
- Development, upgradation, operation and management of AC Dormitories and Retiring Rooms on 'Upgrade, Operate and Transfer' basis at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)
- Advertisement through painting/wall paper on railway boundary wall between CSMT to Kalyan on Main line and Cotton Green to Chembur on Harbour line
2. Advertising in Trains
- Advertisement on LED TV Screens in 2 Vande Bharat Express.
- Distribution of Lifestyle Magazines in premium trains like Rajdhani, Vande Bharat, and Tejas Express etc
Contribution of Other Divisions towards Revenue through non fare means include:
- Rs.7.62 Crore from Pune division,
- Rs.3.61 Crore from Bhusaval division,
- Rs.2.74 Crore from Nagpur division and
- Rs.1.14 Crore from Solapur division
