Cuffe Parade residents to protest at Azad Maidan against water scarcity

For the last few days now, high rises, elite clubs and slums as well have been facing water crisis in several areas of the city, especially in South Mumbai. On Friday, residents were not able to get water tankers.

Agitated residents from Colaba and Cuffe Parade have decided to protest at Azad Maidan on October 15, 2018. The residents have alleged that the authorities are being indifferent to their issues.

Meanwhile, Cuffe Parade corporator Harshita Narwekar said that earlier water supply used to be available from 10.30 am to 1:00 pm, but later it changed from 11.45 am to 1:00 pm. She added that the problem persists across the zone, be it a high-rise or a slum. She said that she has asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to look into the matter.

On Friday, Garware Clubhouse at Wankhede Stadium had sent out a message to its members that due to a shortage of potable water, the swimming pool and the health club was being closed till further notice.
