Diesel prices cut down by 20 paise in Mumbai for second consecutive day - Details here

In a major relief, diesel prices have seen a drop for the second consecutive day while the petrol rates remained unchanged in India for the 33rd day on Thursday, August 19.

According to reports, the diesel prices have been cut by 20 paise across the metros.

With this, in Mumbai, diesel costs INR 97.04 for one litre. This is cheaper by 20 paise compared to yesterday's INR 97.24 per litre. However, Mumbai’s petrol cost is the highest across metro cities, standing at a staggering INR 107.83 per litre.

Meanwhile, in the national capital, petrol prices are steady at INR 101.84 per litre, whereas diesel rates were cut by 20 paise from INR 89.67 per litre to INR 89.47 per litre. 

Diesel price has changed after being static for 31 days on Wednesday, August 18. Besides, it has also come to light that Chennai has been the only city to witness a drop in petrol prices on August 13 after the state government slashed the excise duty.

The petrol and diesel prices are revised by the oil marketing companies at 6 am every day. States and cities have different fuel prices because of the value-added taxes. Local and freight charges vary depending on the place.
