Thane Traffic Police has announced temporary traffic diversions near the Mothagaon Railway Gate Crossing in Dombivli West due to essential railway-related work.
According to a notification issued by Pankaj Shirsat, the work will be carried out by Express Fight Railway Consortium from May 19 to May 21, 2026, between 12:01 am and 6 am daily. During this period, traffic on both sides of the Mothagaon Railway Gate Crossing and the Reti Bandar Road area will remain closed and diverted through alternative routes.
Roads to remain closed
All vehicles travelling from Swami Narayan City Chowk towards Mothagaon Railway Gate Crossing will be stopped at Water Tank Junction and Navin Kopar Gaon Cross Road.
Alternative route
Vehicles can take a right turn and travel via Navin Kopar Gaon Cross Ring Road to reach their destination.
Vehicles heading towards the railway gate from Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Marg and Reti Bandar Road will be stopped at Retibandar Chowk.
Alternative route
Motorists can use Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Marg – M. Gandhi Road – Kopar Road – Navin Kopar Gaon Cross Ring Road to reach areas beyond the railway gate.
Exemption for emergency services
Traffic police clarified that these restrictions will not apply to police vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, green corridor services, oxygen gas vehicles, and other essential service vehicles.
Earlier, Thane Traffic Police had also announced temporary road closures in the Kasarvadavali area due to the ongoing Borivali Tunnel Project. Under that arrangement, the road between Hillcrest Society, Mulla Baug, and Neelkanth Green has been temporarily closed, with traffic diverted to the opposite side.
