How Much Financial Assistance Is Available Under PMMVY?

1. ₹5,000 for the First Child

For an eligible beneficiary expecting her first child, the total benefit of ₹5,000 is provided in two installments:

  • First installment – ₹3,000: Provided after pregnancy registration, submission of the required documents and completion of at least one antenatal check-up.
  • Second installment – ₹2,000: Provided after the child's birth is registered and the mandatory vaccinations are completed within the prescribed period.

2. ₹6,000 for the Second Child if It Is a Girl

If the second child is a girl, an eligible beneficiary can receive a one-time benefit of ₹6,000, subject to the prescribed conditions, including birth registration and completion of mandatory vaccinations.

PMMVY Registration in Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban

In Mumbai City district, ₹2,10,87,000 was provided to 5,556 beneficiaries during 2025–26. For the 2026–27 financial year, 4,676 beneficiaries have so far been registered.

In Mumbai Suburban district, ₹2,90,36,000 was provided to 7,934 beneficiaries during 2025–26. During 2026–27, 16,708 beneficiaries have so far been registered.

The figures indicate continued participation in the maternity benefit scheme across both Mumbai districts.
