Fire breaks out at Mumbai's Reliance Foundation Hospital

A fire reportedly broke out at the Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai's Grant Road area late on Friday night. As per media reports, the fourth floor of the hospital caught fire and the fire department was immediately alerted about the incident, after which around six fire tenders were rushed to the location to contain the fire.

A large crowd of onlookers gathered at the spot to witness the incident. Following this, police personnel were summoned in riot gears to disperse them as per protocol and the cops could not let a crowd gather around breaking the social distancing rules. 

Precautionary measures were taken and most patients were immediately shifted to a safer area during the incident. No injuries have been reported due to the fire and the cause of the fire is also unknown. 

The data provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) states the total number of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai have reached 1,14,287 and there have been 6,350 deaths till now. Given this grim situation, social distancing rules need to be followed by the citizens in order to curb the spread of the virus.
