After the drug poisoning incident at Govandi, 16 students along with a female teacher fell victim to food-poisoning at a private school in Bhandup. The students and teacher fell ill after consuming ‘khichdi’ at the school. Currently, all of them have been admitted to Mulund’s Agrawal Hospital. On August 10, more than 100 students complained of sickness after consuming medicines at Govandi’s Municipal school.

At around 11:00 am on August 16, ‘Khichdi’ was served amongst the students of Bhandup’s Sahyadri Vidyamandir Private School. However, the students started vomiting and complained of stomach ache. After which, the school authorities quickly admitted the kids along with a female teacher who also fell ill, in Mulund’s Agrawal hospital.

Around 12 pm, we received a call from Sahyadri Vidyamandir that the health of many children has worsened. After that 16 children, including a lady teacher, were admitted to the hospital for treatment. All the children are around 12 years old. The condition of all the children is in okay now and are under the observation of doctors," said Dr. Usha Mohaparekar, Doctor, Agrawal Hospital.
