The state forest department razed four illegal shops and buildings at Dahisar’s Dharkhadi. On Thursday morning, forest department officials carried out the demolition along with the police.

The forest department carried out the demolition for the first time in 10 years. The Supreme Court had issued an order to rehabilitate the people who have been residing in the area before 1994.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve said that he will be raising this issue in the state assembly during the ongoing Budget session. When Mumbai Live tried speaking to forest department officials, they refused to comment.
