The Thane Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for the Dombivli area ahead of the Gudi Padwa celebrations on March 19. The restrictions have been announced as large crowds will gather for a traditional welcoming procession.
As per reports, the procession will begin at 6.30 am from Bhagshala Maidan in Dombivli West. The rally will then proceed towards Kopar Bridge. It will pass through Bajiprabhu Chowk and Phadke Road in Dombivli East before reaching Shiv Mandir Road–Char Rasta.
Police have warned that several roads in Dombivli may witness heavy traffic during the procession. These include Ganapati Mandir Road, Tilak Road, Chheda Road, Phadke Road, Bajiprabhu Chowk, Madan Thackeray Chowk, the Modern Café junction, Agarkar Road, Chintamani Jewellers Road, and the IDBI Bank stretch.

Closures During Procession Movement:
When the procession passes through Samrat Ashok Chowk, Nana Shankar Sheth Road and Samrat Chowk, additional closures will be implemented. Vehicles in these areas will be diverted through Ghanshyam Gupte Road, MG Road and Retibandar Road depending on the location.
Restrictions on Heavy Vehicles:
Private buses and heavy vehicles travelling from Kalyan Road via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Circle in Dombivli East towards Tilak Chowk will not be permitted to enter the area. These vehicles will be required to take a U-turn at Gharada Circle before continuing their journey.
Traffic officials have asked bikers to avoid these roads during the procession. The event is being organised by Shri Ganesh Mandir Sansthan in Dombivli East as part of the Gudi Padwa New Year celebrations. It will include traditional performances such as Lezim Pathak, Sanai Choughada, bhajans and Dindi groups.
