The Thane traffic police have announced diversions and restrictions on the Balkum–Saket road in view of a major religious event at the Trimandir in Balkum.

From January 30 to February 1, the movement of heavy vehicles will be prohibited on the stretch between Balkum Naka and Kalwa Cricket Naka between 7 am and 8 pm. The restrictions have been imposed to prevent congestion during the consecration ceremony (pran pratishtha) at the Trimandir, which is expected to draw a large number of devotees.

Heavy vehicles will be diverted via alternative routes, and commuters are advised to expect traffic congestion on adjoining roads during the period. However, emergency and essential services, including ambulances, fire brigade vehicles, police vehicles, green corridor vehicles and life-saving gas carriers, have been exempted from the ban.

The traffic police have urged motorists to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth traffic movement in the city.
