India Post, in collaboration with the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), on Friday inaugurated a dedicated Service Desk and a series of art installations at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminals on the Aqua Metro Line near Entry/Exit Gates A2 and A3.
The initiative aims to enhance commuter convenience while bringing essential postal services closer to the public within Mumbai’s expanding metro network. The inauguration was carried out by Shri Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra & Goa Circle, along with Ms. Kaiya Arora, Director of Postal Services, Mumbai Region, in the presence of senior officials from India Post and Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
The newly installed art displays at the station highlight India Post’s wide range of products and services, combining visually appealing design with informative content. The exhibits offer commuters an engaging glimpse into the postal department’s heritage as well as its modern offerings.
The Service Desk features:
* An extension counter offering philatelic merchandise, including augmented reality (AR) postcards, philately-themed coasters, water bottles, and tote bags.
* Information on a variety of India Post services for commuter assistance.
* A special My Stamp counter, enabling visitors to create personalised postage stamps featuring their own photographs.
* Aadhaar updation facility is also available at this service center.
Officials noted that the collaboration reflects India Post’s efforts to integrate its services within high-footfall public spaces and make them more accessible to citizens.
India Post also announced plans to set up similar service desks and installations at three more metro stations, BKC, SEEPZ, and Cuffe Parade, in the next phase of the project.
