BMC invites applications for 874 jobs

The country's richest and most prestigious civic body, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced vacancy for 874 jobs. The recruitment process will be held in BMC for the position of a clerk. The recruitment process will be conducted via an online examination.

If the reports are to be believed, the BMC will be spending close to ₹12 lakh for the recruitment procedure.

Meanwhile, the civic body has appointed Mahaonline Limited Company to conduct the recruitment process. The organisation will recruit the suitable applicants on basis of their computerial skills and will also hold a multiple option online test. The applicants must also be efficient in Marathi and English typography.

The decision about the 'mega-recruitment' was taken at the Standing Committee's meeting on Wednesday.  Currently, there are 5,255 posts for Executive Assitant. Out of which, the civic body has to fill out 3,221 posts via direct recruitment. Other than that, 874 posts are vacant and will be filled via online process. Therefore, BMC expects more than 3,000 applications for the posts from candidates in open as well reserved categories.

Applicants from open category will have to pay a minimal fee of ₹500 to BMC whereas candidates from reserved category will have to pay ₹300 for their application.
