Kalyan-Dombivli Sees Fresh Water Supply Cuts Till June 20 Amid Rainfall Concerns

In view of the possibility of a delayed onset of monsoon and to safeguard drinking water supplies, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has announced fresh water cuts in various areas.

These measures are being taken as per the instructions of the state's Water Resources Department.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), this year's monsoon may be delayed due to El Nino and other weather factors. Therefore, orders have been given to plan water management till August 31, 2026. Accordingly, local bodies, MIDCs and other agencies have been asked to implement 20 per cent water cuts every day.

As per this decision, water supply from KDMC's Netivali, Barave and Mohili water treatment plants will be closed for 24 hours on certain days.

Water cut schedule:

  • June 12 and 15 – Dombivli East (F Ward) – Netivali Water Purification Center Area
  • June 13 and 18 – Kalyan East (A Ward), Godrej Hill in Kalyan West, Par Naka, Subhash Maidan Area – 12th Center
  • June 14 and 19 – Dombivli West (H Ward)
  • June 15 – Kalyan West (B and C Wards)
  • June 16 and 20 – Manda-Titwala, Badlapur, Ambivali, Shahad, Atali, Kalyan Rural, Yogidham, Milind Nagar, College Area, Chikanghar, Murbad Road and Balyani Area – Mohili Center

The Municipal Corporation has clarified that water supply will be cut off for a full 24 hours from midnight on the specified day to the following midnight in the concerned areas.

Citizens have been appealed to cooperate with the administration by storing only the required amount of water.
