Kolhapur’s air services have received a boost, as IndiGo Airlines has launched a new Kolhapur–Navi Mumbai–Kolhapur route starting Sunday, thanks to the efforts of MP Dhananjay Mahadik.
The service, operating twice daily, will provide significant convenience for travelers. Kolhapur has been included in the government’s initiative to connect cities by air under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme.
The modernisation and expansion of Kolhapur Airport are ongoing, with increasing connectivity to various cities.
The new service was inaugurated by MP Dhananjay Mahadik, who personally greeted passengers traveling from Kolhapur to Mumbai at 9:30 AM.
Under this service:
On the first day, 67 passengers arrived in Kolhapur while 65 passengers departed for Mumbai. This new service allows travelers to complete work in Mumbai and return to Kolhapur in just about an hour and a half, and passengers have expressed satisfaction with the convenience.
