Mumbai - Mumbai mayor Snehal Ambekar will now travel through the city in a car sporting the all important red beacon. State transport minister Diwakar Raote took this decision regarding the use of the red beacon on official vehicles on Wednesday. The Supreme Court had earlier issued an order that only people holding certain constitutional posts would be eligible to sport the red or amber beacon on their vehicles. When Mumbai Mayor Snehal Ambekar was seen traveling in a red beacon vehicle, she was asked not to use one. However, after Raote’s decision, the mayor will be able to do so without fear of censure.
