The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has announced a temporary water supply disruption over the upcoming weekend due to scheduled maintenance work by the STEM Authority.
According to an official statement, the shutdown will last for 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, and ending at 9:00 AM on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
During this period, water supply from the STEM Authority to Mira Road and Bhayandar will be completely suspended. Although supply from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) will continue as usual, it is not sufficient to meet the full demand. As a result, residents are likely to experience low water pressure and delays in supply.
Civic authorities have warned that several areas, particularly those already dependent on limited or staggered water distribution schedules, may face greater disruption. Residents across Mira Road and Bhayandar are therefore advised to store adequate water in advance and manage consumption carefully during the shutdown.
The MBMC has urged citizens to use water judiciously and cooperate with authorities to ensure the smooth completion of the maintenance work. Officials stated that the temporary inconvenience is necessary to carry out critical repairs and infrastructure upgrades, which are expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of water supply in the long term.
