Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists had sent out a letter, earlier on June 30, to cinema halls in Kandivali’s Charkop area. In the letter, the MNS workers have threatened cinema halls to allow people to carry food from outside or else they will agitate.

A few days back, MNS workers, on the similar issue, assaulted the manager of a cinema hall in Pune. This incident went viral on social media.

Cinema halls sell food at expensive prices and they have been slammed by the courts before. Meanwhile, there is a case going against the cinema halls for the same reason. People across the country have agitated against the expensive prices put on the food sold.

MNS Department President Dinesh Salvi said that after sending the letter to the theatres, three cinema halls including PVR, Raghulila INOX, and Cinemax PVR have encouraged their demands to bring food from outside. However, there has been no official statement regarding this from the cinema halls.
