The Nature Trail at Malabar Hill in South Mumbai has been temporarily closed following the fall of a large tree on the pathway on Friday morning, June 12. Civic authorities have suspended public access to the trail while safety assessments and repair work are carried out.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the incident did not result in any injuries or casualties. After receiving reports of the fallen tree, teams from the BMC's Parks Department and Water Engineering Department promptly arrived at the location and began clearing operations.
The civic body stated that the trail has been shut as a precautionary measure to ensure visitor safety. Officials are conducting detailed inspections of the area to determine whether any additional trees or sections of the walkway pose a potential risk.
In a post on social media platform X, the BMC informed citizens that efforts to remove the fallen tree are ongoing and requested public cooperation during the temporary closure. The trail will remain inaccessible until repair work is completed and authorities certify the area as safe for visitors.
